After graduating from the University of Buffalo, Ricki worked for EDS for eight years on web development projects for a major automotive firm. Within those eight years, she worked as a web programmer as well as a project manager.

She opened a virtual assistance business in 2003 after deciding to stay home with her newborn son. Through her involvement with the AssistU and Michigan Virtual Assistants, she discovered other VAs had a real need for technical services and opened Just2Technical in 2007.
